Traditional news outlets have been on a steady decline since the advent of the internet. With the onset of COVID-19, that decline has become precipitous, and calamitous.
Nowhere is that more true than in our regions. “News deserts”, areas not serviced by a single local outlet, are becoming increasingly common.
